我们所见使用Inconel的最常见原因是高温应用，而这最好的等级是 Inconel 718 至 AMS5962。Inconel 718 需进行时效处理，以释放完整的机械性能，虽然这个程序的成本可能很高，但是可让合金的能用度提升到-200°C 至 +550°C之间，超越任何 Inconel X750 或 Nimonic 90的机械性能。
有一个稍微更具成本效益的选项是使用 Inconel X750，具有两个不同的状态可供采购，一次回火（AMS5698）和弹簧回火（AMS5699）皆有不同的好处。此物料有一点要注意的就是热处理，这不仅决定其抗拉强度（可低至900 Mpa（130 KSI）或高至1750 Mpa（254 KSI）），也可以决定其最高的操作温度，按不同的热处理，最高可达到+370°C 甚或提升至+550°C。
另一个使用 Inconel X750（或 Inconel 718）的好处是它在硫化物环境中的耐腐蚀性。只要改变热处理以确保其合规性，计划用于此用途的物料则可被认证为NACE MR0175 选材标准。
