我们所见使用Inconel的最常见原因是高温应用,而这最好的等级是 Inconel 718 至 AMS5962。Inconel 718 需进行时效处理,以释放完整的机械性能,虽然这个程序的成本可能很高,但是可让合金的能用度提升到-200°C 至 +550°C之间,超越任何 Inconel X750 或 Nimonic 90的机械性能。

有一个稍微更具成本效益的选项是使用 Inconel X750,具有两个不同的状态可供采购,一次回火(AMS5698)和弹簧回火(AMS5699)皆有不同的好处。此物料有一点要注意的就是热处理,这不仅决定其抗拉强度(可低至900 Mpa(130 KSI)或高至1750 Mpa(254 KSI)),也可以决定其最高的操作温度,按不同的热处理,最高可达到+370°C 甚或提升至+550°C。

另一个使用 Inconel X750(或 Inconel 718)的好处是它在硫化物环境中的耐腐蚀性。只要改变热处理以确保其合规性,计划用于此用途的物料则可被认证为NACE MR0175 选材标准。
