MP35N (AMS5844) può essere utilizzato in ambienti ostili e presenta ottime caratteristiche anticorrosione in condizioni nelle quali l'acciaio inossidabile come AMS5678 potrebbe non avere prestazioni adeguate. Dopo aver invecchiato il materiale trafilato a freddo a una temperatura compresa tra 538 ˚C e 649 ˚C per circa 4/4 ore e mezza, le proprietà meccaniche (minime) sono 1793 MPa (260 KSI). Si tratta di proprietà buone quasi quanto AMS5678, ma con una resistenza alla corrosione di gran lunga superiore.
Se AMS5678 non offre il rendimento previsto a causa della tensocorrosione, questo è un ottimo materiale da provare.
MP35N può essere utilizzato a una temperatura compresa tra -200 ˚C e max 350 ˚C (a seconda dell'applicazione).
Consigliamo sempre, tuttavia, di sottoporre il materiale a pallinatura alla specifica AMS2430 (con una decontaminazione con sfere di vetro dopo la pallinatura) per migliorare notevolmente le prestazioni a fatica. .
