不動態化処理とは、ステンレス鋼の表面にオーステナイトの膜を生成し耐食性を大幅に改善するプロセスです。 AMS5678のような材料には不可欠な処理です。 注意すべき重要な点として、非破壊試験（NDT）または不動態化処理を効率的に行う前に、ワイヤの表面に残留する石鹸被覆、熱処理のスケールや粉吹きをきれいに除去しなければならないということがあります。 G&OはASTM A380に従いプレクリーンを行います。Method 1のType 7と8に関してNADCAPの認証を得ています（つまりREACH規則にも準拠しています）。
